The Silk Route, or Silk Road, was an extensive network of ancient land and sea trade routes connecting East and West, facilitating the exchange of goods, culture, and ideas across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe from the 2nd century BCE until the 14th century CE. Named for the valuable Chinese silk that was a primary commodity, it also transported spices, precious metals, furs, tea, horses, and glassware, along with Buddhism, Christianity, and advancements in science and technology.
Pickup from NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport in the morning. Drive via Rongli, complete permit formalities (Inner Line Permit required). En-route enjoy: Beautiful forest views Small Sikkim villages and winding roads Check-in at homestay in Dalapchand. Evening: walk around the village, enjoy sunset views. After breakfast, start for the famous Old Silk Route Sightseeing: Thambi View Point (panoramic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga & 32 hairpin bends) Lungthung Kalpokhari Lake Nathang Valley (Known as “Ladakh of East Sikkim”) Kupup Lake (Elephant Lake) Yak Golf Course & Gnathang Monastery Old Baba Mandir Return to Zuluk homestay in the evening. Overnight stay & Dinner at Zuluk.
Morning after breakfast, depart for Rishikhola (Rishi River valley). On the way, visit: Padamchen Lingtham village Reach Rishikhola by afternoon. Relax by the riverside, enjoy nature walk, birdwatching or simply sit by the water. Overnight stay & Dinner at Rishikhola riverside camp/homestay.
After breakfast, depart for NJP/Bagdogra. Trip ends with sweet memories of Silk Route.
